I Hate
Talking Heads!
I hate talking heads that
masquerade as economic and financial commentators. This type of
behavior, very popular in broadcast news today, rarely adds to my
understanding of any topic discussed. I hope I am never thought of
that way. If I am, it means I have wasted your time and mine.
The comments I make will always be in a context. If a topic
is important enough to mention, it is certainly important enough to
explain. This means it takes longer to prepare and longer to
explain. And it takes longer to absorb and understand. I think it is
worth the effort and will be reflected in the performance of your
investment portfolio.
This does not mean my assessment and analysis will always be
correct; it won’t. But it will be complete. I will have a simple and
complete rationale and explanation for the investments I recommend
and invest in.
We don’t invest in a vacuum, so we need to consider where we are in
the economic cycle, and the level and condition of the capital
markets.
My commentary will never be on a schedule. I will not
generate comments just to fill a publishing requirement. I will
offer comments when I think I have something important to say and
useful to you.
